RCA bursary launched to honour Wurr

The Partners is setting up a Royal College of Art bursary in memory of founding partner and former RCA student and tutor Nick Wurr.

Wurr, who died last year aged 43 (DW 18 February 1994), won a D&AD silver for a humorous poster when he was a graphic design student at the RCA.

The ú1000 bursary is to be awarded each year for five years to a second-year graphics student.

Consultancy partner Mark Lee says: “The bursary will be in recognition of a student’s body of work that exemplifies the use of wit and humour in design. That was a hallmark of Nick’s work.”

The Nick Wurr Memorial Bursary is being launched next Tuesday at an exhibition of The Partners’ work, which runs at the RCA until Friday 27 January.
