Glasgow’s design companies scored highly in this year’s Glasgow Business Start-up of the Year Awards, with two design businesses winning awards out of the five which made it to a final shortlist of 12.
Run by the Glasgow Development Agency, the scheme attracted 117 entries. Multimedia game design company Red Lemon Studios and the DNA Scottish Textile Print Workshop both won awards. Red Lemon Studios wins 20 000 and DNA nets 10 000.
Other finalists in the awards included furniture and interior design consultancy LWD, multidisciplinary consultancy ShortHouse Design, and The Wearable Clothing Company.
GDA design executive Adrian Searle says: “We are delighted that Glasgow design companies are getting recognition at such an early stage in their development.”
