Lights, smoke, music, dancing, corporate sponsor-thanking and clapping ensued at the Benson & Hedges Jordan Mugen-Honda EJ10 Formula One launch last week. The Theatre Royal, Drury Lane was taken over by the Jordan team, who believed nothing could overshadow leader Eddie Jordan and his entourage.
However, Jordan was upstaged by celebrity Michael Aspel, who presented Jordan with his This is your Life book.
You could tell from his gestures that Eddie’s master planning hadn’t anticipated being honoured with his resumé. When you have high expectations for the season ahead, you probably don’t need reminding of your ‘life’ history.
He’s 51 years young, and still going for the all important constructor’s championship.
