Brody takes Research Studios into motion graphics

Research Studios is launching a motion-graphics design department this week, to be headed up by founder Neville Brody.

The new department will specialise in television branding, broadcast design, channel graphics packages, idents, promos and titles, according to Research Studios.

Brody will act as art director on all motion graphics projects, while Alex Mazza has just been appointed lead motion graphics designer. Mazza joins from Squarezero.

‘At the moment, the new department is made up of Brody and Mazza alone, but the entire team, both in London and from the international network of studios, will have input into motion graphics projects where appropriate,’ explains a Research Studios spokesman.

‘This way of working also means that projects benefit from the contributions of artists working in very different kinds of cultures,’ adds Brody.

The consultancy is responsible for the title sequences of the Mission: Impossible films.
