Auction: Time for Design
What: The Design Museum is hosting the Time for Design auction, where a selection of lots including a rare Moulton bicycle, a Fiat car modified by Ron Arad and a one-off iPad designed by Sir Jony Ive will be sold to raise money for the museum’s move to Holland Park.

Event: V&A engineering season
What: The Victoria & Albert Museum is set to embark on a season that celebrates engineering, with highlights including a major Ove Arup exhibition and a sprawling outdoor installation fabricated by robots. The engineering season is setting out to consider engineers as the “unsung heroes” of design according to the V&A, which wants to recognise their “vital and creative role” in developing our built environment.

Exhibition: Designology
What: London Transport Museum is set to host the “highly experiential” Designology exhibition, which will look at how design is encountered in everyday journeys across the capital. Designed by Ab Rogers, the exhibition will feature posters from the golden age of travel, historic maps, tickets and signage, and a pop up design studio where visitors will be able to find out more about contemporary design innovation.

Festival: Clerkenwell Design Week
What: The seventh edition of Clerkenwell Design Week is set to take over the east London district towards the end of May. This year’s CDW will feature a number of exhibitions and events across different venues, including the two-floor Design Fields exhibition at Spa Fields and the new British Collection show, which will showcase UK design in the Crypt of St James’s Church.

Film: Workplace
What: Helvetica and Objectified director Gary Hustwit is set to release his latest film Workplace, a documentary about the future of the office. Workplace follows the design and construction of the New York office of ad agency R/GA, in collaboration with architect Foster + Partners.
When: The film premieres on 28 May at the Venice Architecture Biennale. A global internet release will follow in the summer
