Navyblue expands with office in Leeds

Navyblue Design Group is to add a Leeds office to its existing Edinburgh and London bases and has appointed former BDG McColl director Brian Minards to run the business.

The consultancy has been considering expansion into the North of England since last summer. According to Doug Alexander (pictured), managing director of Navyblue in Edinburgh, future acquisitions are also a possibility.

The consultancy is currently recruiting and intends to open the Leeds office at the beginning of April with a full team, including a design director, creative staff and account directors.

‘The business will be headed up by Brian and we are recruiting other people right now. We have decided to grow Navyblue around the appointment of key players and will announce these very soon, but we are not looking to grow by going to market – being independent is very important to us at the moment,’ says Alexander.

In June last year, Clare Lundy, Navyblue co-founder and creative director for print, left the London office without a job to go to.
