The Design Manchester event returns for its third edition next month, with talks from consultancy IDEO, former Government Digital Service head of design Ben Terrett and University of the Arts London professor Fred Deakin.
This year’s event is built around the theme of “Know How” and as well as design will also cover disciplines including film and music.
The Design How series of talks will run throughout the festival from 14-21 October.
As well as sessions by IDEO, Terrett and Deakin, there will also be talks from consultancy Territory, studio Hudson Powell (whose founders Luke Powell and Jody Hudson-Powell are set to join Pentagram as partners) and Barclays customer experience director Clive Grinyer.
Other events will include an exhibition of work by graphic artist Swifty, a display of prints for charity Manchester in Mind and the Manchester Print Festival at the People’s History Museum.
In addition, a Museum How session will see New Order drummer Stephen Morris in conversation with other figures from the music industry.
Design Manchester runs at various venues around Manchester on 14-21 October. For more information visit www.designmcr.com.
