National Museums of Scotland says that the galleries, which are being designed by Methaphor Design will help visitors learn about everything from art and design to bioscience and technology. Methaphor is working on ten new galleries which are expected to be completed by 2016.

Visitors will interact with digital labels, games and other experiences including a full-size Formula One simulator, and “a full body interaction fashion exhibit.”

The tender has been split into four lots. Lot One, Information Exhibits is to present text and picture information to visitors.

Lot Two, Games, will see designers create five games “which bring museum subjects to life” according to the museum. There are also lots for bioscience and innovation.

The contracts will be 12 months long and the budget for all four lots is between 270,000 and 330,000.
