The show will present a series of exhibits, live events, workshops and seminars across the four floors of the building.
This year Designjunction boasts some big names in its talks programme, with Alberto Alessi and Sir Kenneth Grange joined by other speakers including Moritz Waldermayer and Benjamin Hubert.
On the show’s ground floor will be a series of “flash factories”, where brands including Waterford Crystal and upholsterers Coakley & Cox will be showing live demonstrations of manufacturing.
Meanwhile lighting the way to the show’s underground space will be an installation from lighting company Blackbody, which will feature more than 2,700 O-LED lights, and Mini and Dezeen will present an installation on the future of mobility.
Designjunction will also host the A Child’s Dream charity project, which will raise money for charity Teddy’s Wish, which aids research into sudden infant death syndrome, neonatal death and stillbirth and aims to support affected families.
Nineteen designers including Tom Dixon, Paul Cocksedge, Faye Toogood and Afroditi Krassa are reinterpreting the Anglepoise Mini desk lamp and the Ercol stacking chair, with the results being auctioned to raise money for the charity.
Meanwhile Ventura Projects, which has exhibited in Milan and Berlin, will present the inaugural Ventura London at Designjunction, with an international group of exhibitors including Lund University, Common Room and Amma Studio.
On the show’s second floor, Designjunction creative director Michael Sodeau is working with Transport for London to create a TfL restaurant, which will celebrate this year’s Year of the Bus. The restaurant will feature a huge version of the general map of Outer London and a wall made from reclaimed vintage enamel bus stops.
The ground floor, meanwhile, will host an Alessi pop-up café, designed by architect Mario Trimarchi.
Designjunction will also be the base for a series of design tours of London, organised by Japanese brand Tokyobikes.
