The retail space is the 35th store in the Mini Habitat range, which is based within Homebase stores around the UK.
The new store, based within Homebase at Discovery Park, Chichester, features more than 1,300 products from the Habitat collection, including furniture, textiles, upholstery, homewares and lighting, over a 5,600 square foot space.
It has been designed by Habitat creative director Polly Dickens, alongside creative manager Graham Copeland and in-house designer Matthew Long, who all came up with a new retail concept based on refreshed visual elements.
It uses bespoke light fixtures and interactive touch screens and video walls, which aim to present content in a more engaging way and create a more immersive atmosphere for customers, alongside enhancing the sense of space.
“There is still a demand from consumers for physical showrooms that allow interaction with product before purchase,” says Clare Askem, managing director at Habitat. “Chichester is an opportunity for us to trial a new visual concept for these stores on a much larger scale.”
The new store also includes checkerboard flooring, which aims to make colourful accessories stand out by the use of monochrome, a wall of chairs presenting best sellers and a gallery space showing the store’s collection of wall art and picture frames.
